Last year it was terribly cold all winter. This year we’ve been lucky enough to have a really mild January. VERY mild by Manitoban standards. Temperatures around zero, sometimes even above- craziness! Last week we took advantage of the warm weather and decided to take the kids sledding for the first time this winter.
It took us about 20 minutes to get both the kids in their snowpants, boots, mitts, hats, jackets, and scarves, and it seemed like they cried that whole time. Neil was ready to call it quits before we’d even left home. We managed to finally huck them in the van and buckle them up and head out. Ben continued to cry all the way to the hill. Neil was on the verge of crying too I think. But we did make it. And it was worth it.
These are the faces we get when we ask the kids to smile. I don’t think Ben realizes that you can keep your eyes open when you smile. Oh well, still very cute. Seth was so great at holding onto Ben and taking him down the hills.

Here’s a shot of Seth going down the big slide-

and one of Ben, love his face!…

We didn’t stay out for too long because it was pre-nap time. We packed everybody up and heading into The Forks for some hot chocolate, just in the nick of time…

What a fun day!
